6N 2015 – Early birds’ feast

With a phenomenal tackle count that eventually reached 289 – and 202 of them in the second half alone – Wales’ defence (understandably) received almost all of the post-match praise for their 23-16 win over Ireland, but brave and energetic defence is only good enough to secure victory if there’s already been some attacking legwork, so how did Wales get into a match position where defensive commitment and huge tackle numbers would be sufficient to frustrate their opponents and take victory?
